A holy pilgrimage for the Hindu devotee, Manakamana is one of the most worshiped temple in Nepal. “Mana” means by heart or soul and “kamana” meaning wishes, therefore the goddess of Manakamana fulfill the wishes of the people who worshiped her by heart. Situated in high hills of Gorkha, the temple is now easily accessible through Nepal’s first cable car which connects it with Kurintar which is 95 Km drive from Kathmandu. Situated at the altitude is 1250m above sea level, the temple attracts million of devotees every year. Before the cable car, the temple was accessible only through hiking and horse starting from Abu-khaireni of Gorkha. Now paved road is also constructed connecting the villages and temple with Gorkha.
